Variations of expository essay you should know about

Expository essays are popular in college. Students are taught how to write them in order to develop critical thinking skills and broaden their perception of issues. It basically focuses on explaining the meaning behind ideas and themes. The surface meaning (denotative meaning) and the deeper meaning (connotative meaning) of the concept has to be explained.
